Are you looking for a challenge to help keep you motivated?
The folks at JustGiving have come up with a brilliant idea to get the nation moving and help charities like St John Scotland at this difficult time.
The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26 April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, and this year's Glasgow Kiltwalk.
We’re asking you to take part in an activity of your choice based around the numbers 2.6 or 26, and fundraise or donate to support St John Scotland.
People of all ages are taking on The 2.6 Challenge with a host of activities – from walking, running or cycling 2.6 miles, juggling for 2.6 minutes, to holding online workouts with 26 friends. The ideas and options are endless!
St John Scotland volunteer Harry has set himself the challenge of running 260 miles over the next few weeks, and donating £1 for every mile he runs.
The only requirement is that you must follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. Most people are taking part from Sunday 26 April but you can do your activity whenever is most convenient for you.
There are just five simple steps to take:
1. Dream up your 2.6 challenge – if you need help there are lots of ideas here: https://twopointsixchallenge.justgiving.com/inspiration
2. Head to this page to donate £26 – or whatever you can afford – to St John Scotland, or to set up your 2.6 Challenge fundraising page
3. Ask all your friends and family to sponsor you (if you are fundraising rather than donating), and get them motivated by challenging them to do their own 2.6 Challenge
4. Complete your challenge!
5. Don't forget to share a photo or video of your challenge with us!
We'd love you to take part in whatever way you can.
