In fast-moving and unprecedented circumstances, everyone is making adaptations in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
The impacts are far-reaching, and we know are likely to last for some time to come. We wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how St John Scotland is responding, and the impacts on our services.
We have carefully considered the potential risks to volunteers, the public and staff of continuing our activities, and taken into account the latest official guidance on travel and social contact.
- We are suspending CPR training until further notice
- We have cancelled or postponed fundraising events until further notice
- We are keeping our Patient Transport service under review as the situation develops. We are in regular contact with the renal and oncology units our Patient Transport teams serve, and we are exploring options to continue the service at some level if possible, while not putting our own volunteers or the patients they transport at any risk
- The office will close from today until further notice, and the staff team will be working from home. If you need to get in touch, please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or call the office number, which is being diverted: 0131 556 8711. There may be some initial disruption while we adjust to the new working practices, but we hope to be back to full capacity by Monday 23rd March.
Please remember the latest official advice on Coronavirus can be found on the UK Government website.
We look forward to a return to normal working as soon as possible. In the meantime, and most importantly, please take care of yourselves and your families.
