St John Scotland looking for volunteers for new Patient Transport Service in the Highlands
St John Scotland is exploring the development of a new Patient Transport Service across the Highland Council area and is seeking volunteer drivers to help make the service possible.
The service would support people travelling to and from renal dialysis appointments at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, helping patients access essential treatment safely and comfortably.
For people living in remote and rural communities, travelling regularly for healthcare appointments can be challenging. Through this new initiative, St John Scotland hopes to provide additional support to patients while strengthening community connections across the Highlands.
We are now looking to hear from caring, reliable volunteers who would be interested in becoming part of the service. Volunteer drivers would play an important role in helping patients reach their appointments while providing a friendly and reassuring presence during their journeys.
No medical background is required. Volunteers would receive full training, support and guidance from St John Scotland, ensuring they feel confident and prepared for the role.
Volunteering as a driver offers an opportunity to make a real difference to someone's day, helping patients access treatment while providing valuable companionship and support along the way.
The service could provide a valuable addition to healthcare transport options across the Highlands and improve access to essential renal dialysis treatment for patients who need it.
Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to register their interest today.
