The Installation of the Prior of St John Scotland
Today marked a significant occasion in the history of St John Scotland, as the organisation formally installed its new Prior in a ceremony reflecting its dual role as both a charity and a Chivalric Order.
Although recognised for its charitable work - including lifesaving initiatives such as CPR awareness, public access defibrillators, and patient transport - St John Scotland is also part of the worldwide Order of St John, with His Majesty King Charles III as its Sovereign Head. The Order's Grand Prior, His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester, was present at the ceremony, joining volunteers, staff, and distinguished guests to witness this important moment.
Today's event, which took place at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, saw the official installation of the Prior of St John Scotland, Simon Mackintosh KStJ.
A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to making the day such a success. We look forward to sharing the official photography from the Investiture shortly.
