First Responders - St John Scotland

First Responders

Nationally and locally, St John Scotland supports a growing network of First Responder groups. They are trained volunteers working with the Scottish Ambulance Service to deal with emergency situations in their own locality until the arrival of paramedics.

Volunteers are trained in basic life saving skills including the use of a defibrillator, oxygen therapy and how to deal with an incident until an ambulance arrives.

In the Angus area there are currently 22 fully equipped St John Scotland First Responders who cover all the main population centres.
