Glasgow Girl Guides learn CPR

Last week, young members and group leaders from Shawlands Girl Guides in Glasgow took part in CPR training led by St John Scotland volunteers.

The group members all learned how to perform hands-only bystander CPR, giving them the skills to save a life and the confidence to step in and act in an emergency. The group were also trained in how to use a defibrillator by volunteer Stuart Mathewson, who thanked group leader Elaine Barrett for inviting St John Scotland to deliver the training, and the Girl Guides for their enthusiasm!

St John Scotland is a partner in Save a Life for Scotland, the project which sees charities and emergency services joining forces to help train 500,000 members of the public CPR by 2020.

St John Scotand volunteers offer training to a range of community groups and organisations across Scotland. To enquire about arranging training for your group, please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
