The team of St John Scotland First Responders in Angus and Dundee have held a successful coffee morning fundraiser in Montrose, raising £540 to help fund resuscitation equipment.

The event was organised by local First Responders Co-ordinator Melanie Cargill, who thanked all those who helped put on the event, and local businesses who donated raffle prizes.

This was the third Montrose coffee morning to be held in aid of the work of the First Responders, who are a team of more than 20 trained volunteers working with the Scottish Ambulance Service to deal with emergency situations in the local area until the arrival of paramedics.

Thet team are trained in basic life saving skills including the use of a defibrillator, oxygen therapy and how to deal with an incident until an ambulance arrives.
