St John Scotland's West Lothian committee held a Cabaret Night in aid of a Scout group travelling to Namibia to create an infant school and community garden.
The Cabaret Night, held on Friday the 26th of May raised an amazing £575 for the Forth Region Scouts.
The Forth Region Scouts, Scotland and Scouts of Namibia plan to collaborate with the remote village community of Omakange in northwest Namibia to build an infant school. The project also encompasses a fruit and vegetable garden and it is planned that a local scout group will be started, using the nursery school. The infant building will also become a meeting place for community events.
The group of 30-40 scouts and explorers and 9 leaders will leave for their expedition to Namibia in July 2017. The cabaret evening, organised by the West Lothian committee of St John Scotland, welcomed around 50 people with entertainment provided by John Morgan, who won this year's UK Accordian and Fiddle, Best Player award.
