Over 2016/17, St John Scotland Patient Transport drivers have travelled over 158,005 miles.
St John Scotland has provided a volunteer-led Patient Transport service in Scotland for many years, with teams of drivers in Dumfries and Galloway, Angus and Dundee and in Fife. All patients are referred to St John Scotland by the Scottish Ambulance Service or NHS clinic, and volunteer drivers collect passengers from their homes at a pre-arranged time, taking them to their appointments and returning them home afterwards.
Over the past twelve months, volunteer drivers have transported 3,441 patients to hospital appointments and have carried out 1,655 return journeys.
We would like to thank our fantastic network of volunteer drivers who have committed their time and energy to the incredible service.
