St John Scotland Angus and Dundee Volunteer Event

St John Scotland Angus and Dundee held a get-together of volunteers on the 2nd of April. The event was organised to thank volunteers for all their efforts. 

The event also provided an excellent opportunity to present four St John Scotland volunteers with their ten-year service medal.

All awards were presented by the Chair of Angus and Dundee Sandy Bowman MBE OStJ.

Bill Harvey was previously a First Responder and was also one of the original Patient Transport drivers until his retirement from driving in 2018. Since then, he has continued to volunteer as a guardian of his local PAD.

Claire McIntosh has been a first responder since 2012. She has completed nearly 13,000 on-call hours and has rendered public assistance on more than 334 occasions.

Lynn Lawrence OStJ has been a First Responder since 2012. She has been an active committee member since 2016 and is the First Responder Co-Ordinator. Over the years she has been active in raising funds for PADs and has assisted various local groups to install defibrillators across the area. She is also the Area CPR Lead.

Peter Crawford MBE OStJ has been a patient transport driver for about 14 years. He transports patients for oncology treatment at Ninewells Hospital five days a week. In addition, he helps out by transporting renal patients on Saturdays. During his time volunteering, Peter has driven over 200,000 miles. He also willingly assists with vehicle logistics and has been the recipient of numerous letters of appreciation from grateful patients.
